OpenResearch, founded by Sam Altman, needed to make a bold entrance when debuting itself and its initial study findings to the world after years of working in stealth mode.
Business Impact
We worked with OpenResearch to develop a compelling media strategy ahead of the release of its groundbreaking three-year study on unconditional cash transfers. Over eight months prior to the study being released, we facilitated on-background briefings with key journalists and refined messaging to ensure widespread media coverage.
A New York Times piece kicked off the research launch the week prior to the report’s publishing. Then additional embargoed stories ran with the final report from Bloomberg, Business Insider, CNBC, The Economist, Financial Times, Fortune, Forbes, NPR, New York Times, Newsweek, Marketplace, The Hill, The Washington Post, WIRED, and Vox. There have been more than 115 original pieces of coverage, with thousands of syndications worldwide, as well as discussions of the data on broadcast news, podcasts and more.
